I retired in July of 2009, purchased a home in Des Moines with a detached 3 stall garage. The single car garage is my shop. The shop will be approximately 12' wide and 24' long.
This will be my little corner
This will be my shop. The air compressor in the corner came with the garage and home that we purchased
The area looking west
The west end of the shop has a single insulated garage door.

Some of the Equipment
Moving in some of the equipment so that we could use the rest of the garage for the car and truck. Maybe too much stuff.
New Electric Panel
The electrical panel that was in the garage was old and did not have enough circuits, so a new panel was added.
Insulation and Wall Covering
My son, Jeff, and I putting up insulation and wall board. I could not have gotten this done by myself.
I have the shop almost completed now. I have not been able to decide what to use for the ceiling material. The shop is cluttered and will probably always be that way. I hope you enjoy the tour and let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

The Lathe corner
The lathe corner of the shop. If it looks a little cluttered, it is. I am not sure it will ever be any other way.

Miter Saw and Band Saw
A shot of the miter saw and the band saw area.
Table saw and Cabinet storage.
The tablesaw and some storage. The rail cleat system is from Wood Magazine's web site. It works very well as you can rearrange cabnets and the peg board panels very easily.
